How do I access my past appointments and records?
Your past appointments, prescriptions, referrals, and test results are stored securely in the Abby Health app under My Health. You can view your consultation history at any time, and you have the right to request a copy of your records. Every clinician you see on Abby has access to this history so your care stays continuous.
Where do I find my appointment history in the app?
Open the Abby Health app and head to the My Health tab. From there you can see a chronological list of every consultation you have had with us, including the date, the clinician you saw, the reason for the consult, and any documents that came out of it — prescriptions, referrals, certificates, results. Tap on any item to open the full detail and re-download attachments.
If you signed up recently and cannot see anything yet, that just means no consults have been recorded against your account. New patients can start at Creating an Abby Health account.
What about test results, prescriptions, and referrals?
All clinical documents we issue are saved under your record:
- Pathology and imaging results sent through Abby clinicians — reviewed by a clinician before being shared with you. See How do I get my pathology results?.
- Active and previous prescriptions, including any e-script tokens, viewable under your prescriptions tab. For background, see How to get a prescription online in Australia.
- Referrals to specialists or imaging, with their issue date and validity period. See Can I get a referral for imaging scans?.
- Medical certificates and clearance letters issued by Abby clinicians.
Can I request a copy of my full medical record?
Yes. Under Australian privacy law you have the right to access your health information. Abby Health stores patient records in line with the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles, summarised by the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. To request a full copy, contact the Abby Health team through the app — we will verify your identity and provide your records in a usable format. Reasonable handling fees may apply for very large records, in line with the OAIC guidance.
How does Abby keep my records continuous between clinicians?
Continuity is built in by default. Abby AI, our medical decision-support tool, surfaces your full history before each consult so the next clinician arrives already informed — no need to repeat your story. We have a deeper explanation in How does Abby remember my medical history?. 71% of Abby patients see the same clinician again. Abby Health internal data, Q1 2026.
If you would prefer to see the same clinician each time where possible, you can request that during booking. The system will show their availability first.
Who can see my records?
Only Abby Health clinicians providing your care, our small clinical governance team, and you can see your full record. We do not share clinical records with third parties without your consent, except where required by law (for example, mandatory reporting). You can read more about how clinicians at Abby are vetted in How Abby clinicians are vetted and registered — and you can verify any clinician on the public AHPRA register.
What if I lost my login or changed phone?
Your Abby Health account follows you, not your device. If you have changed phone, log in on the new device using the same email address — your full record loads automatically. If you cannot log in, the Abby Health team can help verify your identity and restore access. We will never reset access without verifying who we are talking to. For background on how account access is protected, see What Abby will never ask you to do.
Can I share my Abby record with my regular GP or specialist?
Yes. You can request that a copy of your consult notes, results, or referrals be shared with another healthcare provider. The simplest path is to download the relevant document from the My Health tab and forward it, or ask the Abby Health team to send a copy directly. If you are using My Health Record, your Abby clinician can upload key documents on request, in line with the rules set out by the Department of Health.
