At Abby, you will be seen by highly qualified, Australian-registered General Practitioners and Nurse Practitioners. Every GP on our team is a Fellow of the RACGP or ACRRM, representing the highest level of specialised accreditation possible in Australian general practice. We prioritise your time and clinical safety by ensuring our practitioners are fully briefed before your consultation begins.
At Abby, we prioritise rapid access to care, with most patients hearing back from a doctor within 10 minutes to one hour. We provide same-day care seven days a week to ensure you receive medical attention exactly when you need it.You will never be left wondering about the status of your request; our in-app notifications provide real-time updates at every stage of the process. Whether your doctor is currently reviewing your history or preparing to connect, you can track your progress directly within the app for total peace of mind.
If you're unsure whether your condition can be treated via telehealth, you can ask Abby AI, our medical AI, to walk through your symptoms and help you think through what kind of care you might need. From there, you can start a consultation and the practitioner will assess your case. Many common health issues, such as infections, minor illnesses, and chronic disease management, can be handled online. If your condition requires in-person care, the practitioner will guide you to the right service.
Yes, our practitioners can prescribe medications if they determine it is clinically appropriate. Your prescription will be sent digitally to your phone, to take to your chosen pharmacy. Certain medications, such as restricted drugs, may require an in-person consultation.
Yes, our practitioners can issue medical certificates for sick leave or work absences. These certificates are valid and can be presented to your employer if required. You will receive a digital copy through the Abby app after your consultation.
Currently, our system assigns the next available doctor to ensure fast access to care. However, we are working on a feature that will allow you to request the same doctor for follow-up appointments. This helps maintain continuity of care and a better patient experience.
