Much of my early career was spent in emergency medicine, where you learn very quickly how to stay calm and think clearly when it matters most. Over more than twenty years I've carried that through hospital wards and, now, general practice.
What I enjoy about being a GP is the chance to look further ahead. I see all sorts of everyday and ongoing conditions, but I put a lot of weight on prevention: catching things early, explaining them properly, and building a plan that fits your life rather than fighting it.
If you've been putting off sorting something out, I'm a good person to start with.
