Delivery options and timing

Everything you need to know about how and when your medication arrives.

Everything you need to know about how and when your medication arrives.

What delivery options are available?

Four, depending on your situation:

  • Express delivery — Same day if ordered before 9pm (weekdays)
  • Regular delivery — Two to three business days
  • Click & Collect — Ready for pickup at a nearby pharmacy, usually within the hour
  • E-script (SMS QR code) — A secure code sent to your phone that you can take to any Australian pharmacy

You choose your option on the Your treatment plan screen, right after your consultation.

When will my Express delivery arrive?

If you place your order before 9pm on a weekday, your medication arrives the same evening in most metropolitan areas. Orders placed after 9pm, on weekends, or on public holidays are scheduled for the next available delivery window.

A specific delivery window (for example, "Tomorrow between 9am and 5pm") is shown on your Review your order screen before you confirm.

How long does Regular delivery take?

Regular delivery arrives in two to three business days across most of Australia. Rural and remote addresses may take a little longer — we'll show you an estimate before you pay.

How does Click & Collect work?

We send your script electronically to a pharmacy near you. You'll get a notification when it's ready to pick up — usually within the hour, depending on the pharmacy's workload. Bring ID when you collect.

Click & Collect is a good option if you'd like to speak with the pharmacist in person, or if you already have a local pharmacy you trust.

What is an e-script?

An e-script is a legally valid digital prescription. We'll send a secure QR code to the mobile number on your Abby account. Take that QR code to any Australian pharmacy — they'll scan it and dispense your medication the same way they would with a paper script.

Useful when you're travelling, when you have an existing relationship with a local pharmacy, or when a delivery isn't practical.

Can I change my delivery method later?

You can change delivery options while your order is still being processed — tap Order details in the Abby app and look for the change option. Once your medication has been dispensed, we can't reroute it. If something urgent comes up, get in touch with our patient care team.

What if I'm not home when Express delivery arrives?

Our courier will follow the delivery instructions you provide at checkout. If no one's home, most drivers will leave your package in a safe place or attempt redelivery the next business day. You can add delivery notes (for example, "leave at the side gate") on the Find delivery address screen.

Do you deliver on weekends?

Regular and Express delivery operate Monday to Friday. Weekend Express delivery is being rolled out progressively and is already available in some metropolitan areas. If weekend delivery isn't available at your address, the app will show the next available weekday option before you pay.

Are there any medications that can't be delivered?

A small number of medications have special handling or storage requirements that mean they can't travel by standard courier. When that's the case, you'll see alternative fulfilment options in the app (for example, Click & Collect from a nearby pharmacy).

Some controlled medications — typically Schedule 8 — are delivered through secure, signature-on-delivery processes that may take longer.

What happens if my medication needs to be kept cold?

Cold-chain medications are packed with temperature-controlled insulation and delivered through our cold-chain-accredited partners. The delivery fee for these medications is slightly higher to cover the handling — you'll see the exact cost on your Review your order screen before you confirm.
