Ongoing medication, without the admin. Here's how it works.
What is auto-renew?
Auto-renew is an optional setting that dispenses and delivers your medication automatically before you run out. You choose how often, we handle the rest.
For example: if your script has four repeats and you're taking the medication every four weeks, auto-renew will schedule a fresh supply to arrive around day 25 of each cycle — so you always have medication on hand before the previous pack runs out.
How do I set it up?
When you're reviewing your order, tick Set auto-renew on the Review your order screen. You'll be shown:
- How many repeats are on your script
- The delivery frequency we're proposing (based on your clinician's dosage instructions)
- The delivery address and payment method we'll use
Confirm, and you're done. Your next delivery is scheduled automatically.
You can also set up auto-renew on a medication you already have by opening My Medications → [medication name] → Setup auto-renew.
How do I change the delivery frequency?
Open My Medications → [medication name] → Auto-delivery details. You'll see:
- Deliver every — e.g., four weeks
- Next delivery date
- Delivered to — your current address
- Payment method
Tap any of these to change them. Changes apply from your next scheduled delivery.
Can I delay an individual delivery?
Yes. From the Auto-delivery details screen, tap Delay auto-renew and pick a new date. This only shifts the next delivery — your schedule resumes normally after that.
Useful for when you're travelling, haven't finished your current supply, or need to pause for a short period.
Can I cancel auto-renew?
Yes, any time. Open Auto-delivery details and turn off auto-renew. You'll still be able to order manually whenever you need a refill. Cancelling auto-renew doesn't cancel your script — your repeats are still valid and ready to dispense whenever you're ready.
What if I need a refill earlier than scheduled?
If you've run out early, lost medication, or had a dosage change, you can request an early refill. Because early refills may have safety implications, we ask a clinician to review before dispensing.
Tap For early refill requests, please contact our patient care team directly on your medication's detail screen. Our team will organise a short review and, if clinically appropriate, bring forward your next delivery.
What happens when my script runs out of repeats?
When you use your last repeat, we'll let you know it's time to book a follow-up with your Abby clinician. Your clinician will review how the medication is going, whether the dose is still right, and — if appropriate — write a new script with fresh repeats.
You don't need to remember the date. We track it for you and prompt you in plenty of time.
Will my clinician know that I'm on auto-renew?
Yes. Auto-renew details and dispensing history are part of your Abby health record. Any clinician you see at Abby can see what you're on, how often it's being dispensed, and whether you've requested an early refill.
This is the continuity our care network is built around — your full story is there for the next clinician, without you having to repeat it.
Is there a fee for auto-renew?
No. Auto-renew itself is free. You pay the standard medication cost and the standard delivery fee for each delivery, as you would for a one-off order. Nothing extra.
What if my payment fails?
If your saved payment method doesn't work when an auto-renew order is processed, we'll hold the order and let you know. You can update your payment details in the app, and we'll reschedule the delivery for the next available window.
We never cancel an auto-renew silently. You'll always hear from us first.
Can I have different auto-renew schedules for different medications?
Yes. Each medication has its own auto-renew setting, frequency, and next delivery date. You can set one medication to arrive every four weeks and another every twelve, and manage them independently.
