How do I get a prescription filled when the chemist is closed?
If the chemist is closed, you can still see an Abby Health clinician online, seven days a week, and receive an e-script token on your phone within minutes. You can then fill it at a 24-hour pharmacy, or choose delivery and have your medication sent to you.

Step 1: check for a late-night or 24-hour pharmacy near you
Most Australian suburbs have at least one pharmacy with extended hours, and the capital cities have a small number of genuine 24-hour pharmacies. The Find a Pharmacy service run by the Pharmacy Guild of Australia lets you search by opening hours. If you already hold a valid e-script token, any open pharmacy can dispense it.
Step 2: if you need a new script, see a clinician online
If you have run out of medication or need something new, an Abby Health clinician can assess you the same evening. Join the First Available queue or book through the online prescriptions service. Where clinically appropriate, your prescription is issued as an e-script token sent to your phone, ready to use at any pharmacy. Consultations are bulk billed for eligible patients with a valid Medicare card.
Step 3: choose how your medication reaches you
You can take your e-script token to any open pharmacy, or use Abby medication delivery, which offers same-day delivery in eligible metropolitan postcodes, standard delivery, and Click and Collect.
What we cannot do after hours
Schedule 8 and certain Schedule 4 medications are not first-prescribed online at any hour. You can read why we do not prescribe controlled medications online. And if you are seriously unwell rather than simply out of medication, this is not a pharmacy problem: call 000 or use our serious symptoms guide.
Uncompromising Care. Abby Health. Help that's closer than you think.
