What makes Abby Health an online-first clinic
Abby Health is an online-first clinic, not a telehealth app. We are a care network of 300+ AHPRA-registered clinicians connected by technology, available 7 days a week, 365 days a year. 71% of patients rebook with the same doctor, so your story carries from one consult to the next. Abby AI, our medical AI, prepares each consult by surfacing your history for the clinician — it never diagnoses, prescribes, or replaces clinician judgement. Abby Health bulk bills most telehealth consultations for eligible patients, meaning Medicare covers the consultation in full and there is no out-of-pocket cost.

An online-first clinic, built as a care network
Abby is a clinic that happens to be online. The building is digital; the care is not. Behind every consult is a team of more than 300 AHPRA-registered clinicians — GPs, Specialist GPs, and Nurse Practitioners — working together as one care network. They are supported by a clinical leadership team led by Dr Bosco Wu, our Clinical Director and an AMA NSW Council member, and Dr Ramu Nachiappan, our Chief Medical Officer, who spent 35 years as a GP in Broken Hill, one of Australia's most remote communities.
We describe ourselves as a restorer, not a disruptor. We have no new vision for healthcare. We have the oldest one. A doctor who knows you. Our job is to make that tradition a reality again for every Australian, starting online.
Care that understands you
The first pillar of comfort at Abby is Understanding. When you book a consult, Abby AI quietly reads your past notes, medications, and health concerns, and hands the clinician a concise picture before the call begins. It is decision-support — it prepares and supports the consult, but it never diagnoses, prescribes, or replaces clinician judgement. Our AI note disapproval rate is 0.03%, and the bar stays that high because a clinician signs off on everything.
Continuity matters, too. Abby remembers you between visits, so you are not retelling your story every time. 71% of patients rebook with the same doctor — the tradition of a GP who knows you, delivered online.
Knowing someone cares
The second pillar is People. A clinic is only as warm as the people inside it. Our care network includes Specialist GPs with advanced training in general practice, and Nurse Practitioners who can assess, prescribe within their scope, and manage ongoing care. Every clinician holds current AHPRA registration.
Patients have felt the difference in how they rate us: Trustpilot 4.8, Google 4.8, App Store 4.9, and ProductReview 5.0. Those ratings reflect the one thing we care about most — the feeling that someone on the other end of the consult is paying attention.
Help that's closer than you think
The third pillar is Where. Abby was founded from Broken Hill, not a tech accelerator. Our CMO Dr Ramu Nachiappan spent 35 years as a rural GP there, and that lineage shapes how we think about distance. A consult from a kitchen table in Wilcannia should feel the same as one from an apartment in Surry Hills — warm, unhurried, and handled by a clinician who has your history in front of them.
We run 7 days a week, 365 days a year, with appointments available on demand or scheduled in advance. Long-term care, on-demand.
Bulk billing and cost
Abby Health bulk bills most telehealth consultations for eligible patients, meaning Medicare covers the consultation in full and there is no out-of-pocket cost for eligible patients. You can read the full eligibility criteria on our bulk billing page.
What Abby AI does, and doesn't, do
Abby AI is a decision-support tool. It prepares each consult by surfacing patient history, symptoms, risk signals, and follow-ups so the clinician starts informed. It does not diagnose. It does not prescribe. It does not replace clinician judgement. Every clinical decision is made by a qualified, AHPRA-registered clinician.
