Your medication, delivered across Australia
A prescription only matters if it is filled. Across Australia, a significant number are not.
The reasons are rarely the patient's fault, and almost always about access. Some patients live further from a pharmacy than from a doctor. Some work the exact hours the pharmacy is open. Some cannot afford the fuel, the parking, the lost shift, or the childcare required to make the trip. Some are not well enough to make it at all.
This is the quiet inequity that sits between a diagnosis and a full course of treatment, and it is the single largest hidden gap in Australian primary care. For years we've been proud of how far our consultations reach. Today, we close the rest of the distance.
Four options. You choose at the end of your consultation. The app does the rest.
Express delivery. Same day in most metropolitan postcodes if you order before 9pm on a weekday. $12.99.
Regular delivery. Anywhere in Australia. Two to three business days from dispatch. $6.99.
Click & Collect. Pick it up from a partner pharmacy near you, usually ready within the hour. Free.
E-script (SMS QR code). A digital prescription sent to your phone. Take it to any Australian pharmacy. Free.
The Abby clinician who knows you writes the script. A licensed Australian pharmacist reviews and dispenses it. A courier brings it to your door. Continuity of care, end to end, for the first time.
When your clinician writes your script, a new screen appears called Your treatment plan. Every medication is listed with a short note from your clinician.
Underneath each one, the app shows the delivery options available for your postcode. If Express delivery is live where you live, it's the first option. If it isn't, the app tells you upfront and offers Regular delivery or Click & Collect instead.
You choose. You confirm the delivery address. You pay. The full price is shown before you confirm — medication and delivery together, nothing hidden.
That's the whole flow. Most patients finish it in under a minute.
Every delivery moves through four clear stages, visible in the app in real time.
- Dispensing. Your script has reached the pharmacy. A pharmacist is preparing it, with the standard review — history, interactions, allergies.
- Ready for dispatch. The pack is sealed and waiting for the courier.
- On the way. The courier has collected it. You can see roughly where they are and how long they're expected to take.
- Delivered. The pack has arrived, with a photo of where it was left attached to the confirmation.
You get a push notification at every step. If something is running late, the app tells you why.
Plain packaging. No pharmacy logo. No medication name. Nothing on the outside that tells anyone what's inside. Just a plain cardboard box.
Cold-chain where it matters. Medications that need refrigeration travel in temperature-monitored packaging. If a parcel moves outside the safe window in transit, it's intercepted and replaced before it reaches you.
Signature on delivery for Schedule 4 and Schedule 8 medications, where regulation requires it.
If you're not home, you can nominate a safe drop in advance — a porch, a garage, a neighbour you've named. Otherwise the courier leaves a card and tries again the next business day.
Managing ongoing medication?
For prescriptions with repeats, the treatment plan includes a toggle called Auto-renew. This is one of our favourite things we've built.
Turn it on, and about seven days before your current supply runs out, the app sends you a short check-in — same dose, any side effects, anything you'd like to raise with your clinician. Your answers go straight to the clinician managing your care. If nothing has changed, the next supply dispatches automatically and arrives before you run out. If something has changed, the app books a quick consultation first.
It's not set and forget. It's set and checked. You can pause Auto-renew for a holiday, or cancel it entirely, in two taps.
When you see an Abby clinician now, the whole cycle stays in one place. The consultation. The script. The follow-up. The delivery. The refill before you run out.
You don't drive across town twice. You don't repeat your story. You don't get stuck choosing between a prescription and a pickup.
The help centre has full articles on delivery timings, costs, tracking, Auto-renew, privacy, and service areas by postcode.
If you'd rather speak with someone, open the Abby app and tap Need some help? The patient care team — Mae, Catherine and Dom — is on seven days a week, from 5:30am to 11:30pm.
Welcome to the next step. We're proud to take it with you.

This is a change to how medication reaches the patient. It is not a change to how medicine is practised.
Your Abby clinician writes the prescription during your consultation. A licensed Australian pharmacist reviews and dispenses it. If the pharmacist needs to clarify anything on the script, they contact the clinician, not you. The standard of care is the standard a local GP and a trusted local chemist would work to on their best day.
Abby AI, our medical AI, continues to support every consultation by surfacing history and flagging follow-ups. It does not prescribe and it does not diagnose. Clinical decisions sit with the clinician, where they've always sat.
Three specific things, and they're the reason we built this:
- Patients who cannot reach a pharmacy during opening hours — because their shift runs the same hours — can now complete their care without trading a shift for a script.
- Patients in regional and rural Australia can receive medication within two to three business days of a consultation, rather than waiting for a next available trip to town.
- Patients with mobility constraints, or caring for someone with them, can complete the full cycle of care without leaving home.
None of these patients were being served well by the old system. They are the reason this one exists.
Express delivery is expanding to more postcodes over the coming months, including wider weekend service. If your postcode isn't Express-eligible today, the app will tell you the moment it is.
We're also extending delivery into our impact partnerships — with homeless services, domestic violence organisations, and Aboriginal Medical Services in remote Australia — at the same clinical and pharmaceutical standard as every other Abby patient. Because accessible healthcare that stops short of the people who need it most isn't accessible healthcare at all.
